Jake doesn’t know that computer-whiz Byron is plotting to use Jake’s power to answer the Markham family’s puzzle and that he is willing to risk Jake’s life to do it. Byron convinces Jake to use his power, then, following his computer-captured clues, Jake, Byron and Pamela sneak off to find an abandoned mine. While digging, they cause a cave-in. Pamela is thrown clear but is disoriented. Jake and Byron are trapped and Byron is seriously hurt, with only Jake to rely on to keep them both alive until help arrives…
