Volume II is for children 9 to 12 years old
Each of the 75 sessions is organized for the teacher with objectives, directions, use of space, vocabulary, materials, warm-up activities, group activities, detailed instructions for procedure, and follow-up activities. They utilize children’s literature, stories, poetry and dramatic tradition. The sessions are organized by the calendar with timely activities for each month. Activities are suitable for students of all abilities and may be used in class or in a pull-out setting.
Children get experience in acting and models for behavior at a time in their lives when diversity of expression is crucial for their development and their self-concept.
These highly professional works are grounded on Susan Dinges’ leadership of Kansas City’s Creative Drama Workshop for Children, which she has directed since 1952.
Volume II sessions include:
Firebird; Halloween; How the Camel Got His Hump; The Potato Thieves; The Nutcracker; The Little Match Girl; Winter Carnival; O'Brian Visits the Little People; Henry and Ribs.
