The first book in the Fairie Ring series.
The Dark Lords, a mysterious council of evil beings, are trying to take control of the world of Fairie and the world of humans. Both worlds need each other to survive, but they cannot understand each other. Beautiful, teenage Fairie Princess Elazandra takes on the awesome responsibility of protecting both worlds, and slips into the human realm disguised as an exchange student living in the Jenkins’ home. The disguise is easily done: blue contact lenses to cover her golden eyes, and long, pale blond hair to cover her pointed, elfin ears. (Elazandra’s appearance was basically human, because her birth father was human.) Soon, she is forced to share her secret with Ryan, excellent junior high school student who excels in fencing. And as the two become caught up in the battle of sword and sorcery, their hearts are forever bound in first and undying love.
Supporting characters introduced in the first book are Ashlyn, Ryan’s older, not too bright sister, Elazandra’s roommate in the Jenkin’s home; Michael, Ryan’s best friend, companion nerd, and computer genius; and Fax, a small, overweight dragon who both helps and hinders the main characters. In addition to treasure, he also hordes Rolex
watches. And there are the orcs, evil creations of the Dark Lords who form the basic foot soldiers of the villains’ armies who are secretly gathering in a deserted toxic waste site.
