Announcing a New Geology Course!

The Royal Fireworks Online Learning Community is thrilled to welcome Bryan Roessel for our spring semester! Instructor Roessel has a wealth of knowledge and a contagious passion for science to share with students in the brand new course How to Build a Continent: An Introduction to Geology.

In this course, students will gain a basic understanding of the processes that, working together, produce the landscape features all around us. These include rock formation, weathering and erosion, and tectonics. Students will identify patterns in nature through the use of geospatial visualization software, kitchen experiments, and web-based resources. They’ll also pose their own questions and develop procedures for answering them.

Bryan Roessel holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and adolescent education, as well as master’s degrees in geoscience in science education, chemistry, and has more than fifteen years of experience in science education. To learn more about Instructor Roessel, you can check out the instructor bio or visit our Virtual Open House, where instructors give basic overviews of their courses, teaching style, and more.
