Volume III of the Aesop’s Fables series contains eleven fables with associated exercises for young children. The fables are as follows:

– Hercules and the Wagoner
– The Tortoise and the Hare
– The Mice in Council
– The Woodsman and the Serpent
– The Lion and the Mouse
– The Peacock and Juno
– The Crow and the Pitcher
– The Fox, the Rooster, and the Dog
– The Fox and the Crow
– The Tree and the Reed
– Androcles and the Lion

Each story is accompanied by a list of vocabulary words to know, as well as a picture to color and a variety of activities to complete, including exercises that teach basic information on compound words, apostrophes, articles, sentence writing, initials, describing, story writing and rewriting, poems, announcement writing, questioning, choosing, imagining, creating a recipe, directions, seasons of the year, and making a puppet show. A page at the end of the book delves into the significance of polite and correct listening and talking. This activity book will keep children engaged as it teaches them simple lessons about more than just academics!
