Artistic Mathematics Workshop (Jan. 3, 4, 5)

In this workshop, students will get to experience mathematics intersecting with art! They will use a straightedge (ruler) and a circular protractor to create such designs as the Baravelle spirals, cardioids, parabolic curves, and the curves of pursuit. Once they’ve mastered the basic skills, students are free to be as creative as they like!

Live Classes: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, January 3, 4, and 5, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Materials: Students will need to purchase a Helix Angle and Circle Maker (available online), a ruler with centimeter marks, white printer paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, and/or markers.
