  • Instructor Michael Allen
  • Code ART71-S25
  • Student Ages 13–18
  • Term Spring Semester 2025
  • Day Friday
  • Time 2:00 P.M.

THIS IS A ONE-SEMESTER COURSE.

In this immersive and comprehensive course, students will explore the concepts of figure drawing—specifically construction and human anatomy. With the help of masters like Bridgman, Hogarth, and Michelangelo, students will draw from life, reference, and their own imagination.

In learning about the fundamentals of drawing the human figure and anatomy, students will start with the skeleton, drawing using construction techniques and building up to the origins and insertions of surface anatomy. They will learn to draw the skeleton, torso, arms and legs, hands and feet, and the human head.

This course is intended for students interested in drawing, as well as those who wish to understand human anatomy for the pursuit of careers in the medical and related fields.

Class Meetings: Fridays, 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 17 – May 16
