Jainism Workshop (June 13-15)
- Instructor Ingrid Klass
- Code WR13W
- Student Ages 10-18
THIS IS A THREE-DAY WORKSHOP.
Jainism was the world’s first religion to set up a nuns’ order, thus acknowledging that women were capable of reaching the same spiritual attainment as men. A thriving tradition going back more than 2,500 years, this Indian religion has influenced non-Jain figures such as Gandhi and, by extension, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This workshop will introduce students to this rich faith that emphasizes nonviolence and the multisided nature of truth.
There will be no assignments for this course, just a forum for gathering online to learn and discuss. There will be an online classroom provided with additional materials and a space to connect.
Live Classes: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 13th, 14th, and 15th, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time
