THIS IS A ONE-SEMESTER COURSE.
This course is intended for students who have completed the course “Latin, Part V” and are ready to move on in their learning. Building on their knowledge of Latin at this level, students will explore the language and its conventions, focusing on traditional Latin grammar constructions. They will read and discuss Latin selections at an intermediate level.
Class Meetings: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 15 – May 14
There will not be a class meeting every week. The class meetings will be supplemented by independent study weeks.
Student Expectations: Students will be given weekly reading assignments. They will also be expected to respond verbally and in writing to questions from the instructor.
Student Support: The instructor is available by email.
Feedback/Assessment: Feedback will be provided on weekly assignments and projects. Grade recommendations are optional.
Prerequisites: Students should have completed the course “Latin, Part V.”
Materials/Supplies: Students will need the books Wheelock’s Latin, 7th Edition and Thirty-Eight Latin Stories: 5th edition, Designed to Accompany Wheelock’s Latin (7th Edition). Both books are available for purchase on the internet.
