THIS IS A TWO-SEMESTER COURSE.
This course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the the history of modern Britain, from the Industrial Revolution to the present. Topics will include the country’s political, military, social, and cultural history, as well as its relations with the rest of the world.
Live Classes: Mondays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. For the fall semester, this course runs from the week of September 11th to the week of December 11th, 2023; for the spring semester, the course runs from the week of January 8th to the week of May 6th, 2024.
Student Expectations: Students will be expected to do the weekly readings, take part in the discussions, and finish and present a project each semester.
Student Support: The instructor is available via email.
Feedback/Assessment: The instructor will critique all of the students’ written work.
