Science Fiction/Fantasy Writers’ Club
- Instructor Myrna Kemnitz
- Code CW61
- Student Ages 12-18
This is a club for children who want to write science fiction or fantasy works. Class meetings will be devoted to aspects specific to writing in these genres. In the science fiction/fantasy world of writing, characters must be fit for cosmic action adventures and mystical and magical challenges in bizarre worlds. It’s all about writing great settings, plot lines, and characterizations. Specifically, students in this course will use the moon and Mars for settings, as well as information from NASA for a factual basis, to give their stories realistic and believable elements.
Live Classes: Mondays, 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Student Expectations: Students are expected to write a science fiction or fantasy short story (or a longer work) during the course. Stories will be shared with other students in the club.
