Sculpting Workshop A: Making Animals, Real or Imaginary (Dec. 23, 26, 27)

In this workshop, students will learn basic techniques of sculpting. They will be using nontoxic materials to make a sculpture of an animal of their choice. The instructor will include discussion on texture, proportion, and color theory, as well as working with mixed media. Multiple examples of sculpture will be shown to encourage creativity and exploration outside of the workshop.

Class Meetings: Monday, Thursday, Friday, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: December 23rd, 26th, 27th

Materials/Supplies: Students will need the following inexpensive materials for this workshop:

– White DAS air dry clay
– Tin foil
– Armature wire
– Wood glue or glossy Mod Podge sealer
– Optional: cardboard, paper, paints, feathers, beads, or fabric to decorate the sculpture after it has dried
