Storytelling with Puppets Workshop (Jan. 27-Feb. 24)

In this workshop, students will gain a basic understanding of puppet storytelling (as opposed to puppet shows). The instructor will explain and demonstrate how to create voices and facial expressions while storytelling with puppets and will perform at least two folk stories with animal puppets to help students understand the basic concepts of a puppet story. Students will be actively involved in the learning process and will be invited to share a puppet story of their own on the last day.

Live Classes: Fridays, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 10, Feb. 17, and Feb. 24 , 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Note that these classes may meet for more than an hour each session.

Materials: Students will need to have at least one animal hand puppet (any size), paper and pencils, and an assortment of colored pencils or markers.
