Summer Philosophy Club

  • Instructor Ingrid Klass
  • Code GPH01
  • Student Ages 9-13
  • Term Summer Session 2023 (June 5-July 28)

Looking for some philosophical fun this summer? In this course, students will dive into philosophical puzzles, thought experiments, stories, and games that provoke questions and debate: Is zero a number? Do fictional characters exist? (If not, why would we object if someone claimed that the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland was pink?)

Each week’s philosophical activities will be centered around a theme, such as artificial intelligence, time travel, dreams, or ancient paradoxes. An online classroom will provide additional information, links to interesting articles and videos, and an online discussion forum.

Live Classes: Thursdays, 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Student Expectations: No homework or preparation is required; students need only to show up every week for fun philosophical conversations.
