At the Royal Fireworks Online Learning Community, we continue to think about children and their diverse needs in the current situation, and we continue to expand the learning opportunities that we offer.

New to our course offerings is Dr. Rachel McAnallen’s math for highly gifted young children. Dr. McAnallen is one of the country’s most innovative math educators. Her concern is to induce children to think about math and to understand it, and to that end she is an ingenious deviser of mathematical activities and games. This course is constructed to challenge the mathematical agility of the most creative and gifted young minds. Dr. McAnallen is the author of the Awesum Alex math series of books for young children; she is currently working on the next book in the series.

We want to take this opportunity to remind you that starting on Monday, Ingrid Klass is offering a three-day workshop on Hinduism. Many Americans are familiar with yoga but don’t know much about the tradition it comes from: Hinduism. Hinduism is a complex and multifaceted religion practiced by more than a billion people living in India and worldwide. During three one-hour sessions, this workshop will introduce students to this vibrant religious and philosophical tradition that began 3,500 years ago and that continues to shape people’s lives and the world today. Ingrid Klass is the creator of our developing Eastern philosophy series.
