A Note to Our Customers about the Pandemic

Dear Royal Fireworks Family,

This is a difficult and uncertain time for many of us. We know that the challenges you face as parents and educators have grown exponentially as schools and libraries have closed, incomes have been reduced or lost entirely, and routines have been disrupted. The unprecedented nature of current events leaves all of us uncertain as to what the coming weeks and months will hold.

For our part, Royal Fireworks Press will remain open, and we will continue to ship orders as usual. We are taking the necessary precautions to stay safe and to keep our work areas clean and disinfected, and our employees are working from home when possible. If you order from us, your order will be processed just as it would have been before the advent of this pandemic and the resulting disruption. We will alert you if that status changes.

In the meantime, as we try to ensure that children are able to continue their education during this time of massive school closures, we would like to offer you resources for keeping children engaged and preventing academic setbacks. In the next few days, we will make a variety of recordings of classes from courses in our Online Learning Community available to you and your child at no charge. We hope that these will prove interesting and instructive for your children and will offer some relief from the additional burdens imposed by this virus on you. We will post information on the home page of our website to direct you to these recordings.

Here are some other other ideas to keep your child intellectually motivated:

1. Overdrive

If you’re not familiar with this company, Overdrive works with schools and libraries to provide digital books and audiobooks. Many libraries provide free access to Overdrive with just a library card. Thousands of books are available at the click of a button. Sign in/sign up here to give your child access to as many books as he or she can handle. If your library participates, it’s free!

Royal Fireworks Press is working hard to make our materials available digitally through Overdrive. Many subjects are available now; check back occasionally for more titles.

2.  YouTube

While there is plenty on the site that is far from educational, YouTube is also a place where anyone can learn almost anything. With a little adult guidance, children can begin learning a language, an instrument, or even string theory. Don’t be afraid to try something new when you’re cooped up. Talk to children about what they’ve always wanted to learn but have never had the time for. This could be their opportunity.

Royal Fireworks Press has made available many of Michael Clay Thompson’s keynote speeches from various events, as well as video guides. View them on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/RoyalFireworksPress

If there is anything that we can do to support you or your child, please give us a call at (845) 726-4444.

Stay safe,

The Royal Fireworks Press Team
