Let Our Experts Ease Some of the Burden

It isn’t easy doing something you’ve never done before. It’s even harder if you’ve never been trained how to do it. Lots of parents are in the sudden, unenviable position of having to perform the duties of teacher as schools struggle to implement distance learning options in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Teaching children at home can be difficult, and it’s especially hard if you have always relied on teachers to do it.

Let the Royal Fireworks Online Learning Community help. Our instructors are experts—not simply teachers but true experts—in their fields. They know the subjects they’re teaching, and they know how to teach children. Importantly, they are by nature encouragers rather than correctors; they want children to enjoy their subjects as much as they do. They also know how to give personal attention to individual children, even when they’ve never met face to face.

If you struggle with grammar, you don’t need to feel overwhelmed at the prospect of teaching your child grammar; let Michael Clay Thompson do it. Michael is the author of the MCT language arts curriculum that so many teachers and homeschool parents love. If you never liked math, let our math instructor teach your child one of five different math subjects. His warmth, flexibility, and creativity make learning with him a special experience. Can’t remember the details of history? Let our history instructor walk your child through significant events of the past to help him or her achieve an understanding and perspective on where we came from and where we’re going. No facility for foreign languages? Our Spanish course is taught by a native Spanish speaker who also happens to have a doctorate in Puerto Rican literature.

We also offer an Eastern philosophy course and a much shorter Buddhism workshop, both of which are centered on the topic of the meaning and attainment of happiness (a not-unimportant subject right now), as well as a mindfulness-based stress reduction course (which is helpful any day but far more so today).

These courses are all part of our special spring session, designed to enable children to continue learning, even though schools are closed. Courses begin this week, so don’t delay.

Let us teach your child so that you can focus on the myriad other issues affecting your life during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones and those who are sick themselves or who are worried about sick friends and family members. We wish you health and warm feelings of fellowship.
