If jabberwocks are all bandersnatches, and if no bandersnatches eat jam, then do jabberwocks eat jam?
This course introduces classical logic in the spirit of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. With no prior experience required, students will learn the foundations of classical logic, including categorical syllogisms, propositional logic, and basic quantificational logic. Weekly exercises will draw from a range of literary and fantasy-themed scenarios that require students to identify, formulate, and analyze logical forms. Students will solve puzzles and encounter paradoxes, all while learning the strengths and weaknesses of different logical systems.
