Fine Arts: Drawing, Level II
This course will focus on refining traditional drawing skills. Students will learn advanced realism techniques with traditional supplies and will begin working with charcoal and toned paper. Students are expected to create one finished piece per week for homework and present the work in the following session.
Live Classes: Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, from the week of January 10th to the week of May 9th
Student Expectations: Students are expected to complete one artwork per week for homework and to participate in the live classes.
Student Support: The instructor is available via email.
Materials/Supplies: Students should have a webcam and an overhead mount so the instructor can view the drawing process. Please have it installed before class begins. Students will also need a sketchbook (white paper, minimum 10”x12”), a set of drawing pencils that includes several H and B grade pencils, an eraser for drawing (such as Caran d’Ache Technik, Pink Pearl, Staedtler, Faber Castell), a set of charcoal or charcoal pencils, at least one stick of white charcoal, a gray-toned paper sketchbook (minimum 10”x12”), a kneaded rubber eraser, a blending stick, a sandpaper sharpener, and charcoal fixative.
Prerequisites: Students must have taken Fine Arts: Drawing, Level I.
