This is the second half of a two-semester course that began in Fall 2020.
In this higher-level course, students will continue to develop the vocabulary, grammar, and cultural concepts introduced in Spanish I and II, but there will be more in-depth reading and writing. The main objective of this course is for students to acquire a higher level of fluency in Spanish. In addition to typical topics in Spanish, they will explore the Spanish of various academic subject areas, such as art, science, mathematics, and history. The course will be conducted in Spanish. All instructions, exercises, and comments will be presented in Spanish. Students can communicate with the professor in English via email if they have questions.
Live Classes: Mondays, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, from January 11th to May 10th. Students must attend the live classes.
Student Expectations: Each week there will be oral practice, reading, and writing to develop Spanish fluency. Students should study and practice for at least twenty minutes every day.
Student Support: The instructor is available via email.
Feedback/Assessment: Feedback will be provided on assignments, quizzes, and classwork.
Materials: All necessary reading and study materials will be provided and posted online. Students must have a good Spanish-English dictionary, a class notebook, and a journal.
Prerequisites: Students should have completed Spanish II or have comparable knowledge of Spanish.
