Description

Aesop’s Fables are timeless classics, and we are pleased to offer them in a format that makes them easily accessible to young children. The fables—forty-four in all—are divided among four volumes, and each one includes not just the fables themselves but also important vocabulary and additional pages of activities for children to complete.

The stories themselves have a reading level that increases from 2.1 in Volume I to 4.3 in Volume IV. The activities are varied and engaging, and they provide children with opportunities to think about the stories in different ways. They emphasize reading, writing, and thinking, as well as life skills, values, decision making, visual interpretation, and creative expression. Children draw pictures, color images, write sentences to answer questions, and complete fun activities, such as writing how many words they can make from another word, or filling in blanks to complete a story, or listing synonyms or antonyms, and more. The variety in the activities provides something for every child.

This series is printed with a special dyslexia-friendly font that is easier for some children to read. The series also comes printed in a more standard font. (See below.)
