Ethics

The term ethics comes from the ancient Greek word ethos, meaning way of living. Ethics is a branch of philosophy having to do with individual behavior in a social setting. In a general sense, it arises from Plato quoting Socrates: “The unexamined life is not worthy living.” Ethics is an evaluation of behavior in terms of good and bad and an effort to prescribe behavior that is beneficial.

Our ethics curriculum is designed to give students the occasion to explore for themselves questions of right and wrong and how, ultimately, they should behave.
