This course offers students a whirlwind tour through some of the great ideas in mathematics, starting with the ancient Babylonians and ending with some twentieth-century breakthroughs. Topics include examples from arithmetic, geometry, algebra, calculus, probability and statistics, logic, and more. Students should understand that, because the topics will vary widely, the lessons will contain various degrees of complexity. However, the course was designed to be informative and fun, and most of the topics will be accessible to a wide audience.
