Rachel Lott, Ph.D.

Dr. Rachel A. Lott has taught and tutored philosophy and academic writing since 2009. She holds both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in medieval philosophy from the University of Toronto, as well as a double B.A. in philosophy and literary studies from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Before discovering the world of gifted education, she worked in both undergraduate and graduate education, serving variously in teaching, admissions, and program management. She also designed and implemented ESL essay coaching services and acted as the lead for curriculum mapping on two accreditation teams. Alongside essay coaching, she has served as an academic editor for more than twenty book-length manuscripts.

In 2020 Rachel began publishing her own work, including a volume of translations from the 17th-century German poet Angelus Silesius. She also discovered online teaching, and she has become a popular instructor of logic, philosophy, and writing courses. To encourage students of all ages to learn logic early, she designed her own classroom curriculum, inspired by the beloved children’s classic novel Alice in Wonderland, which ultimately led to the publication of her delightfully whimsical and yet deeply educational Classical Logic I textbook.
