The exercises involve organizing information, sequencing, pattern decoding, understanding relationships, inferring, solving analogies, and deducing. Many of the lessons are pictorial so that they can be completed by children who have not yet learned how to read. However, there is a range of challenge levels in the book so that children who are strong readers or who are advanced intellectually will also find exercises that engage them and require them to put on their thinking caps.
