THIS IS A TWO-SEMESTER COURSE.

This course is for children who are ready to begin algebra. With patience and a steady application of effort through the year, students will be able to master the wide range of topics that fall under the heading of “Algebra I.”

Through the year, students will be presented with many problem-solving strategies to apply to a broad introduction to basic algebra, including linear equations, ratios, quadratic equations, special factorizations, complex numbers, graphing linear and quadratic equations, linear and quadratic inequalities, functions, polynomials, exponents and logarithms, absolute value, and sequences and series.

This course is set for the appropriate level of difficulty for children in the sixth to the eighth grades.

Class Meetings: Wednesdays, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Fall Semester: August 20 – December 17, 2025
Spring Semester: January 14 – May 13, 2026
