THIS IS A TWO-SEMESTER COURSE.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States and the fourth most spoken language in the world. Learning this widespread and beautiful language not only opens doors to diverse cultures and enriching travel experiences but also sharpens cognitive abilities and expands career opportunities.
This is an introductory Spanish course that will provide students with a solid foundation in vocabulary and grammar. Students will build on that foundation in order to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. They will also study the cultures of Spain and Latin America.
At the end of this course, students should have a Mid to High Novice level of language proficiency.

Class Meetings: Tuesdays, 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Fall Semester: September 15 – December 15, 2026
Spring Semester: January 12 – May 11, 2027
Student Expectations: Students are expected to participate actively in class, to complete all class assignments and homework on time, and to demonstrate effort and understanding of the material covered.
Student Support: The instructor is available via email.
Feedback/Assessment: Students will receive constructive feedback on their assignments. The instructor will be available to answer questions and to provide additional support as necessary.
Materials/Supplies: Students will need the following materials:

– A printer
