Edith Katz

Edith Katz is a researcher, writer, educator, and landscape architect who is passionate about climate change and the role that her profession can play in rescuing and restoring the planet. She holds advanced degrees from the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) and the London Architectural Association. With a background in private practice, she is currently employed as a consultant with Martha Schwartz Partners, an internationally respected global firm led by one of the most recognized female landscape architects. She has taught climate aware courses at the Harvard GSD, as well as design studios and landscape history at the University of California and the University of New Mexico. Her current research is focused on a futuristic proposal for Linear Urban Forests that is funded by a grant received by the Harvard Climate Change Solutions Fund. She also participates on the Landscape Architecture Foundation’s Climate Change Task Force, which formulates strategic thinking about landscape and climate change.
