How do we determine what’s right and what’s wrong? For most people, the answer comes from our families, our cultures, our religious institutions, and our social norms. But it’s not always easy to know the right thing to do. Life is messy, situations can be complicated, and the right choice isn’t always obvious. Sometimes doing the right thing has negative consequences, leading us to question if it really is the right thing.

Children need opportunities to explore the subject of ethics, to think about and discuss how they want to conduct themselves in the world. Instilling them with our core values and then pointing them toward actions that exemplify those values is one of the most important things we can do to help them live a good life—not just for them but for all of us.

Our ethics books are designed to be springboards for thought and for important conversations about how to decide right from wrong, all in the context of engaging stories that draw children in and invite them to think deeply about how to live both thoughtfully and well.
