The Poodle and the Art of the Comma instructor manual contains the full text of the student book, answers to the end-of-chapter and end-of-book quizzes, and special boxes and bubbles filled with information that instructors can share with students to enhance their learning. The book also includes an instructor section, where Michael explains why teaching students punctuation—and in this book, the correct use of commas in particular—is an integral component of grammar instruction. He writes:

“Commas exist at certain grammatical intersections that structure meaning, and so when we teach comma use, we find that the grammar that governs them is inherently embedded in the instruction….
