Royal Fireworks Online Learning is excited to announce that we’ve just added two new spring courses for students who want to stretch their minds and skills in unique ways! These courses are taught by experts in their fields, offering students an exceptional opportunity to learn from instructors who are passionate, accomplished, and deeply committed to helping students excel academically and creatively. Whether your child loves writing, storytelling, or visual art, these courses provide both challenge and inspiration.

Dive into the art of writing with a course that strengthens analytical thinking, sharpens research skills, and deepens understanding of style and rhetoric. Students will read established texts to analyze what works and why. They’ll also practice grammar, punctuation, and spelling through engaging drills while developing both creative and expository writing skills.

Reading, Writing, and Rhetoric 
Instructor: Kevin O’Brien
Student Ages: 11–14
Class Meetings: Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 15 – May 14, 2026
Cost: $500 (~$31 per week)

Course Highlights:
– Analyze published texts for content, style, and rhetorical structure.
– Learn research fundamentals and how to articulate ideas clearly.
– Improve creative and expository writing through revision and practice.
– Engage in weekly drills, quizzes, and games on grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
– Receive detailed feedback on all assignments from the instructor.

 

Learn to bring characters to life under the guidance of a Nickelodeon designer! Students will explore anatomy and expressions to create original model sheets, gaining the skills and confidence to design characters for animation and gaming.

Character Design for Animation and Gaming
Instructor: Michael Allen
Student Ages: 11–18
Class Meetings: Tuesdays, 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 13 – May 12, 2026
Cost: $500 (~$31 per week)

Course Highlights:
– Learn character design fundamentals for animation and gaming.
– Explore shapes, anatomy, and expressions for character creation.
– Create a model sheet for an original character.
– Receive step-by-step guidance from a Nickelodeon character designer.
– Get instructor feedback on all submitted artwork.
