This spring, Royal Fireworks Online Learning is offering three exciting biology courses that bring science to life for curious young learners. Whether your child is fascinated by the secrets of heredity, the hidden world of microbes, or the inner workings of the human body, these interactive courses invite ​students to explore the living world with expert guidance.

Dr. Kristin Krause, an award-winning biologist with a Ph.D. from Dartmouth College, continues to inspire students through her engaging courses on genetics and human biology.

Dr. David Purvis, beloved instructor and author of Dr. Dave’s Science Teaching Manuals, returns as well, guiding students through the captivating microscopic universe of microbiology.

Introduction to Genetics
Instructor: Dr. Kristin Krause

Class Meetings: Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 14 – May 13, 2026

Course Highlights:
– Discover how traits are passed down through generations—from molecules to populations.

Microbiology: The Unseen Universe
Instructor: Dr. David Purvis

Class Meetings: Thursdays, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 15 – May 14, 2026

Course Highlights:
– Discover the six kingdoms of life and their microscopic members.
– Study bacteria, fungi, protists, and viruses, including how they affect health and genetics.
– Learn about the beneficial and harmful roles of microorganisms.

Human Biology
(second semester)*

Class Meetings: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Spring Semester Dates: January 14 – April 22, 2026
Cost: $575
*This is the second semester of a full-year course that began in Fall 2025, but new students may join with instructor approval.
Course Highlights:
– Explore how the human body functions and stays in balance.
– Study major organ systems and the body’s remarkable ability to maintain homeostasis.
– Perform simple at-home experiments with everyday materials.
– For hands-on learners: Conduct optional dissections (pig heart, sheep brain, cow eye).
