When students don’t know how to manage their time to fit homework into their often-busy schedules, they lose out on the learning that comes with research, study, and practice. When they can’t figure out how to start a big homework assignment, they fall into patterns of frustration and procrastination. When they can’t find the homework that they did manage to complete, their grades suffer.

Dr. Sharon Blumenthal-Cohen works with students of all ages to learn how to build and strengthen valuable executive functioning skills, such as prioritizing and planning, in order to gain control over their academic performance. And students ages 10-15 will have three opportunities to join one of her upcoming courses at Royal Fireworks Online Learning. Dr. Blumenthal-Cohen is offering her always-popular Get Organized! Executive Functioning Strategies each semester of the 2026-2027 school year, as well as during the 2026 summer session.

This course offers students strategies to help with the following issues:

• Problem solving
• Time management
• Task initiation
• Organization
• Planning and prioritizing
• Working memory
• Self-regulation
• Perseverance

Strengthening skills in these areas is critical if students are to succeed academically, but these are the skills that will also enable them to succeed in their careers, their hobbies, their relationships…basically anything they want to do in their lives. That’s why this course is so valuable—its benefits stretch far beyond schoolwork to touch most aspects of daily life.
