This spring, Royal Fireworks Online Learning invites students to explore courses that develop clarity of thought and confidence in communication. Whether your child is drawn to logic, public speaking, or the art of strategy, these courses offer intellectual engagement and expert mentorship in a supportive, stimulating environment.

Classical Logic II
Instructor: Dr. Rachel Lott
(single-semester course)
Student Ages: 9–18
Class Meetings: Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 13 – May 12, 2026
Cost: $550 (~$34/week)

If your child enjoyed Classical Logic I, this course is the natural follow-up! Students will build on their introduction to logical systems by mastering the more complex rules of propositional logic. They’ll learn how to construct truth tables to evaluate any formal argument and will exercise creativity in drafting their own formal proofs

Course Highlights:
– Gain a deeper understanding of formal logical systems.
– Discover truth tables and advanced proof structures.
– Strengthen rules-based reasoning useful for STEM fields and debate.
– Receive weekly feedback on graded exercises.

Speech and Debate

This spring, students will continue exploring the power of spoken communication through the study and practice of speech and debate. They’ll analyze great speeches from history and learn to speak and argue persuasively in a variety of contexts.

Course Highlights:
– Study landmark speeches, from Socrates to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
– Practice clear, confident public speaking.
– Learn techniques for persuasive argumentation.
– Receive individualized coaching and feedback.
– Includes all reading materials and recordings.

Chess Club

Class Meetings: Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 15 – May 14, 2026

Join Michael Clay Thompson for this dynamic and strategic club where students play, analyze, and discuss chess matches together. Each week offers an opportunity to advance through the mrT Chess Belt system (similar to the belt system in karate) while sharpening focus, logic, and foresight.

Course Highlights:
– Play in team-based chess challenges.
– Advance through the unique Chess Belt system.
– Learn and apply algebraic chess notation.
– Develop strategic thinking and concentration.
– Open to all levels, from beginners to advanced players.
