Instructor Dr. Frances Spielhagen is an experienced educator who has spent more than thirty years teaching Latin and developing innovative, natural methods for learning the language. As the author of the Fabulae Caeciliae series and the College Board’s Latin review book, she brings a deep understanding of Latin pedagogy to every class.
Dr. Spielhagen’s courses are designed to engage students through clear explanations, authentic texts, and a natural, inductive approach to language learning. Students develop a strong foundation in Latin grammar and vocabulary, build reading comprehension skills, and gain the confidence to engage with classical texts. Private instruction provides even more support, helping students master translation, syntax, and literary analysis at an individualized pace.
