Climate Science Courses Now Enrolling

Climate change is one of the most important and complex topics that students can study today, and it reaches far beyond science alone.

Royal Fireworks Online Learning courses with Edith Katz give students the opportunity not only to learn the science behind climate change but also to explore solutions, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence as informed, engaged global citizens.

We’re offering three distinct course options for the 2026–2027 academic year, allowing students to engage with climate studies at different levels and in different ways.

Exploring Climate Change: Science and Solutions
Student Ages: 10–18
Class Meetings: Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: Sept. 10 – Dec. 17, 2026; Jan. 14 – May 13, 2027
Cost: $575 per semester/$1,100 full year
Course Highlights:
– Introduces the science behind climate change across multiple disciplines
– Explores how scientists study and measure environmental change
– Examines real-world impacts and global solutions
– Incorporates videos and resources from leading scientific institutions
– Includes interactive assignments and a final project using an MIT climate simulator

Agency in the Anthropocene: Advanced Climate Change Studies
Student Ages: 12–18
Class Meetings: Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: Sept. 8 – Dec. 15, 2026; Jan. 12 – May 11, 2027
Cost: $575 per semester/$1,100 full year
Course Highlights:
– Provides an in-depth, advanced study of climate science and policy
– Explores topics such as climate justice, decarbonization, and global initiatives
– Develops communication, leadership, and advocacy skills
– Encourages participation in youth-led climate efforts
– Includes research, writing, and a final presentation project

Youth-Led Climate Study Group
Student Ages: 12–18
Class Meetings: Mondays, 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time
Dates: Sept. 14 – Dec. 14, 2026; Jan. 11 – May 10, 2027
Cost: $575 per semester/$1,100 full year
Course Highlights:
– Focuses on applying climate knowledge through real-world action
– Guides students in developing group initiatives and campaigns
– Builds leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills
– Connects students with global youth climate movements
– Emphasizes communication, advocacy, and project-based learning
