This spring, your child can join Edith Katz, an inspiring environmental educator, for the continuation of two important Royal Fireworks Online Learning courses on climate change science and advocacy. These are the second semesters of full-year courses, but new students are welcome to join now and can catch up on previous classes through videos made available all year long.

Whether your child is curious about how the planet works or passionate about protecting it, these interactive courses foster critical thinking, creativity, and agency in the face of global challenges.

Exploring Climate Change: Science and Solutions
(second semester)
Student Ages: 8–18
Class Meetings: Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 15 – May 14, 2026
Cost: $575 for the spring
Course Highlights:
– Explore the science of climate change through inquiry and discussion.
– Engage with MIT’s climate simulator to design custom solutions for reversing global warming.
– Learn how individual and collective actions can reset the Earth’s future.
– Complete a creative final project in the format of your choice: writing, art, video, or multimedia.

Agency in the Anthropocene: Advanced Climate Change Studies*
(second semester)
Student Ages: 10–15
Class Meetings: Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: January 13 – May 12, 2026
Cost: $575 for the spring
Course Highlights:
– Take your climate learning further with a focus on advocacy and applied environmental design.
– Use Climate Positive Design software to create low-carbon plans for your city or neighborhood.
– Explore career opportunities in environmental science, sustainability, and climate restoration.
– Collaborate on a student-produced climate newsletter to share insights and inspire action.
*Note: This is an advanced course. Students who have prior knowledge of climate science or who have completed the “Exploring Climate Change” course are especially encouraged to join.
