Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday life, but students shouldn’t simply use AI tools without understanding what happens behind them. That’s why Royal Fireworks Online Learning is pleased to offer three new courses with instructor Gaurika Gupta that will give students a hands-on introduction to AI and coding, with projects designed specifically by age group.

Younger students will explore AI through Scratch and creative projects, middle school students will move into Python and AI-powered applications, and high school students will learn to use AI in coding and debugging while building applications of their own.

An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Elementary Schoolers
Student Ages: 8–10
Class Meetings: Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: October 15–December 17, 2026; January 14–May 13, 2027
Cost: $600 per semester/$1,100 for both semesters

Students will:
– Learn the basics of AI and prompt writing
– Use AI to generate ideas, characters, dialogue, quizzes, and game logic
– Build mini-games and interactive projects using the programming platform Scratch
– Create an AI quiz game
– Develop smart, decision-based games
– Create an original AI-inspired final project

An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Middle Schoolers
Student Ages: 11–13
Class Meetings: Mondays, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: October 12–December 14, 2026; January 11–May 10, 2027
Cost: $600 per semester/$1,100 for both semesters

Students will:
– Learn the fundamentals of machine learning, generative AI, and prompt engineering
– Develop programming and coding skills using Python
– Build their own AI chatbot and customize its personality and memory
– Create a PDF assistant
– Develop an AI-powered web app
– Explore how AI agents complete multi-step tasks
– Learn GitHub and code management
– Deploy an AI project online

An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for High Schoolers
Student Ages: 14–18
Class Meetings: Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Dates: October 14–December 16, 2026; January 13–May 12, 2027
Cost: $600 per semester/$1,100 for both semesters

Students will:
– Gain an in-depth introduction to the possibilities of AI
– Learn to use AI tools for coding and debugging
– Develop programming and problem-solving skills
– Build and test AI-powered applications of their own

All three courses are built around learning by doing. Students will work on projects during live class meetings and between classes, with coaching and feedback from the instructor. No prerequisites are required. Students will need a computer for these courses; a tablet will not be sufficient.
